Site: Unitarian chapel
Denomination: Unitarian
Type: Chapel
Period: 18th Century, 19th Century

Features: Unusually large and elegant for its age

Location: 14 miles W of Dorchester off the A35.

The present unusually large and elegant building was opened as a Unitarian chapel on 9 March 1794. It is exceptional for that age, or any time before about the fourth decade of the 19th century, when the norm for Dissenting places of worship was a small, simply designed, building out of sight from the main roads.
