Period: 18th Century
Features: Two late 18th-century cottages converted into a chapel
Location: 12 miles E of Tunbridge Wells on the A229.
This 1787 chapel is a humble cottage that is made distinctive only by its round-headed windows and a solitary gravestone at the front. Such was the simplicity of so many of the 18th-century and early 19th-century Dissenting places of worship, but it appealed to many in this small community, as they drifted away from St Dunstan, the parish church (q.v.) to attend it or the General Baptist Chapel (q.v.).
